Hello!!I am a Greek teacher and I was working in a nursery in London for 3 years. I m thinking of taking aTEFL and go teaching abroad (I'm interesting more for South America).  I was searching the internet information and was really disappointed because most of the jobs are searching for native speakers.  Is it so difficult to teach abroad if you are not a native speaker?

I would say it is not impossible to get a job as a non-native English speaker but it is certainly more difficult. My suggestions: 1. Get a CELTA rather than a TEFL. More widely recoginzed and respected. 2. It is easier to gain a position if they see you face-to-face and you are there to help with an immiediate teaching need. Once your foot is in the door, impress them and they will keep you. Thank you.
