School uses threats, fraud and coercion to keep teachers
Alfa y Omega bilingual school will hire you and talk a good game. They will promise to get you residency papers but never follow through and leave you high and dry out of status and subject to deportation. They knew when they hired me that my 90 day tourist visa expired in mid october but did nothing until I reminded them october 1 that they should start the process or send me out of the country on a visa run. They asked for a photocopy of my entire passport and 2 photos to "start" the process. But they never started it and never got an extention or sent me out so that I could renew the tourist visa. They claimed they would pay the fine if i ever wanted to travel, but now refuse to do that. They never gave me a contract, first saying that everyone had 2 months probation then signed a contract, but I was never given one. I have purchased tickets to go home on March 1, because I refuse to stay and work for this place anymore. I am just praying that somehow I can get out because at this point the fine is over $400 and with what they pay I have no way to pay it. Don't come here and work!
