a Canadian-educated language instructor with extensive teaching experience in English for General/Academic/Specific Purposes at the post-secondary level in a number of countries (see attached resume). I have also participated and presented at an array of international academic conferences in Applied Linguistics realm (a list can be provided upon request).
My objective is to engage in employment that will allow me to continue my pursuit of Teaching English as a Foreign/Second/Academic Language, engage in research activities, continue taking advantage of cutting-edge e-learning opportunities, and improve myself professionally. I am interested in working in a positive environment that is conducive to collegiality, in growth, and offering of opportunities that will allow me to fully exploit the knowledge, abilities, and experience that I currently possess.
While my research interest is primarily centered around helping non-native English speaking students develop proficiency in the English language for general/academic/specific purposes, my teaching experience has ranged from instructing entry level, intermediate, advanced, foundation and teacher training programs students in the Diploma and Higher Education Programs using the Cutting Edge, Headway, and perspectives texts among other Pearson Education ELT materials as well. I organized instruction of my students using top-notch teaching technologies and innovative digital techniques that would foster independent student learning and success. I concurrently produced in-house teaching materials and employed supportive technological approaches (as well as offered professional development workshops) that centered around best-teaching strategies enhanced by evidence-informed, data-driven approaches to foster student centered-learning environment, autonomy, and assessment for learning to achieve maximum student performances.
Besides to my English language instruction as formulated by the recruiting language programs, my duties also included the delivery of remedial English, English for Specific Purposes, assessment of students’ achievement of the curriculum milestones and outcomes as well as monitoring students progress.
