Please consider my application to be an ESL teacher at your school.  I am TEFL certified and I have a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in special education. I am currently teaching English to students of all ages and levels at my home in Bien Hoa City, Vietnam.

Before starting my own business, I was an ESL teacher at VMG Language Center in Bien Hoa, Vietnam. I loved working for VMG and I thoroughly enjoyed the students, whether they were young children, teens, university students or adult business people. After getting married and having a baby, scheduling concerns led me to private instruction in which I focus on IELTS preparation and conversation.

I was an ESL teacher at Extreme Learning Center in Arequipa, Peru, for 14 months before going to Vietnam. I also taught the TEFL Pedagogy and Grammar courses at Extreme. These courses enabled prospective teachers to become TEFL certified. I have taught in school districts in Delaware and Ohio in the United States before going overseas.

Before I became a teacher, I was a journalist for 30 years. For the last 20 of those 30 years, I was an editor, working with reporters to improve their articles. I left journalism in 2008 and earned my master’s degree in special education from Antioch University Midwest in Yellow Springs, Ohio, USA.

I love teaching. I strive to make my classes fun and informative for my students. Perhaps most important, I truly respect the students and I believe the students know this and appreciate this. I plan thoroughly for every class and try to make each class an event that students enjoy and look forward to. I would bring the same enthusiasm and work ethic to your school.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

    Best regards
    John M. Millman
