Discover the spirit of Japan working in the Japanese school system
Discover the spirit of Japan working in the Japanese school system. Help us enrich the lives of hundreds of thousands of children every year by sharing your knowledge and insights of English and international culture.
We are actively seeking applications from native-level English speakers currently residing in the United States of America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand for teaching positions starting in Japan from March 2015.
Interac teachers enrich the lives of hundreds of thousands of school children every year by delivering interactive and exciting English lessons. Commonly known as ALTs, which stands for assistant language teacher, Interac’s teachers, working in the Japanese school system, enrich children’s lives by sharing their knowledge of English and communication skills and giving insights into other cultures.
As an Interac ALT your job is two-fold: language instructor and cultural ambassador. These two aspects are inseparable, and you, as a successful Interac ALT, will become an expert in both. You can expect to teach classes on your own, with a Japanese teacher present to help manage the classroom.
Before you begin, we will offer you the chance to complete a comprehensive initial orientation and training program upon arrival in Japan. Regardless of your prior teaching experience, we will equip you with the practical skills you need to be an effective Interac ALT. We also offer an ongoing training program so that you can further develop your skills.
We know that you have many questions about living and working in Japan with us. To help answer your questions we would like to invite you to visit our website at interacnetwork.com. On our website you can find out everything you need to know including details of the requirements, recruiting process, salary, accommodation, and information about life in Japan.
Once you are ready, you can also make an application through our website at interacnetwork.com. We will be holding seminars and interviews in various major cities in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom from September through December. The recruiting process outside of these countries, including for Australia and New Zealand, is completed entirely online.
