Re: TEFL Information - Online versus Face-to-Face
Hello Mr. Bendary. Thank you for the question. Firstly let me say that if you have the time and money to commit, I would suggest a CELTA or a TrinityTESOL. I say this because they are recognized around the world as the best TEFL/TESOL teacher training programs. Additionally, there are some areas (such as Saudi Arabia) that make a CELTA a prerequisite.
If you are going to do a TEFL, then doing it face-to-face is a better option...moreso if it is done in the country where you want to work because it will allow you to make contacts and search for a job while you are training.
Doing online TEFL training is perfectly fine and, give the new digitial age, remoate training and learning is much more common and acceptable. The only caveat would be to ensure that there is a teaching practicum built into the course. School like to see that you have applied what you learned. Online TEFL courses can do this remotely where you teach in your local community or location, then forward them the video and proper evlaluation/forms/feedback.
Best of luck!
