Re: Which is better? A TESOL Course or a TEFL Course?
For teaching abroad, either will suffice and it is usually best to see what the schools in your country of choice are asking for. Regardless, the difference is:
TEFL Courses: Teaching English as a Foreign Language Course which focuses on training for teaching students that live in a country where English is not the native language.
TESOL Courses: Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages which encompasses both teaching students that live in a country where English is spoken and those that live in a country where English is not the native language. TESOL acronym tends to be used by universities, etc. for their training courses.
There really is no major difference between the two. It all depends on what you want to do and where you want to go.
Also, you may want to consider a CELTA which is widely recognize worldwide as a superb teacher training course and certificaition.
Best of luck!
