Visiting Instructor in TESOL/Linguistics

The Department of English at Missouri State University seeks candidates for a visiting instructor in TESOL/Linguistics for Spring 2017 (non-tenure track, renewable for one year through May, 2018).

The department offers degrees in English at the BA and MA levels with tracks/minors in linguistics, TELL, and TESOL. The department participates in a collaborative MA in applied second language acquisition with the department of modern and classical languages. The first date of consideration is December 2, 2016, and will continue until the position is filled. Employment will require a criminal background check at University expense. Minimum Qualifications

MA in applied linguistics or closely related field from an accredited university, degree completed by December 2016;
Graduate coursework in modern English grammar (descriptive or pedagogical grammar and syntax);
Teaching experience in TESOL/English;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience serving both native English speaker students and international students in a university setting;
Doctoral coursework in English grammar and second language acquisition.
