St Luke’s Grammar School is a K minus 1 – Year 12 co-educational Christian School in the Anglican tradition and it is the School’s vision ‘to equip students to make a difference in the world’. St Luke’s Grammar School employs over 100 full-time and part-time teachers, supported by teachers’ aides, peripatetic tutors and administrative and grounds staff.

St Luke’s Grammar School is seeking to appoint an experienced and energetic Teacher of English as a Second Language who is suitably qualified to teach ESL to Years 10 to 12. The successful applicant will ideally be a Christian and actively involved in his or her church and willing to contribute to the co-curricular life of the School.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Responsibilities:
 Have a good working knowledge of the Stage 5-6 English ESL Syllabus
 Have a good knowledge of and experience in teaching in the ESL subject
 Co-Ordinate the academic care of the Overseas students
 Have the ability to develop, implement and evaluate effective, engaging,
teaching programs which incorporate a range of ICT strategies
 Have the ability to differentiate classroom activities in order to meet the
learning needs of students
 Have the ability to design and implement a range of assessment strategies
 Have effective classroom management skills and the ability to create and
promote a positive learning environment in the classroom
 Have a willingness to actively gain an understanding of the Learning@St
Luke’s Framework and implement it into teaching programs and lesson plans.
 Have the willingness and ability to work collaboratively
 Participate in the Pastoral program of the School
 Participate in the Co-curricular program of the School
 Attend Parent Information Evenings as required
 Any other duties requested by the Principal
Qualifications and Experience:
 Tertiary Qualification in ESL.
 Experience in the development and delivery of Stages 5 and 6 ESL Board of
Studies Course
