Teacher's Aides (EAL/D with TESOL) x2

The school is looking for two enthusiastic Teacher's Aides / ESOs who are willing to be part of a dynamic staff, focussing on assisting new arrival students to improve their English Language skills and in transitioning into an Australian school setting.

Both positions are temporary full time and will commence at the start of Term 4, 2015 and conclude at the end of Term 4, 2015.

Your skills and abilities will include:
Effective communication skills – both verbal and written
Ability to communicate at all levels across the School
Computer literate with broad experience in using a range of assistive technologies
Will have relevant experience and skills demonstrated by working with overseas or new arrival students and/or in the teaching of English.

The successful applicants will be expected:
To work and support new arrival students from year 7 to 12, focussing on improving their English skills (written and spoken) and assisting them transition to life at the school and in the wider community.
To liaise with teaching staff and parents to provide feedback on students’ progress.
To provide in-class support to new arrival or ESL/D students.
To be fully supportive of the Christian ethos of the college.

The successful applicant will have a Certificate III in Education Support and preferably TESOL qualifications.
