Located at Laverton in Melbourne's west, the not-for-profit, community owned and managed Laverton Community Education Centre is the training arm of the Laverton Community Integrated Services Inc. We have been providing high quality education to the community for almost 40 years. As a Registered Training Organisation, we deliver nationally recognise qualifications, short courses and English as an Additional Language (EAL) courses.

The ESL Coordinator will be responsible for contractual coordination, compliance and marketing of the Commonwealth funded Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program and the English classes funded by the Higher Education and Skills Group (HESG). Teachers, assessors and administrators and other key stake holders of the programs report to and/or liaise with the EAL Coordinator on a regular basis. This is an ongoing part time position and salary packaging is available.

You will be required to work in a small but friendly and supportive team, liaise with students, teachers and industry and therefore require excellent interpersonal skills.

Desirable experience includes:

A teaching qualification.
Demonstrated knowledge of the EAL Frameworks Curriculum.
Knowledge and understanding of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF) and the SEE Program (formally known as the Language, Literacy and Numeracy Programme)
Experience working with people from a culturally and linguistically diverse background.
