Macquarie University English Language Centre (ELC) - Casual Teachers

Opportunities exist at the Macquarie University English Language Centre (ELC), Sydney, for qualified and experienced Casual Teachers to teach 2 - 5 days per week on its English Language programs. Successful candidates are expected to be available to teach during the last 5 week teaching block for 2014 (Monday, 17 November to Friday, 19 December) and/or the first teaching block for 2015 (Monday, 5 January to Friday, 6 February 2015).

Essential Criteria:
Undergraduate degree;
Postgraduate TESOL qualification
Thorough knowledge of the English grammar system;
Demonstrated ability to teach academic writing;
Ability to work collegially;
Intercultural awareness and sensitivity;
Understanding of eLearning and confidence with classroom technology.
Desirable criteria:
Experience in teaching on general/academic English language courses and/or field specific university preparation programs; experience in curriculum development;
Understanding of IELTS or other English language testing systems;
Experience working in other fields such as business, accounting, science etc.;
Experience and/or interest in convening or coordinating programs in an English language centre;
Expertise in intercultural communication;
Experience in the development and/or implementation of curriculum or e-learning materials;
Willingness to work at associated campuses
