Teacher weblogs The TESall Ticker! Teacher websites

The business of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is booming, both at home and abroad. And make no mistake, it is a 'business.' There is money to made, one way or another. Most English teaching jobs worldwide are with private language institutes. These schools are in reality businesses in the business of teaching English and for the most part that's fine. Profit earning does not preclude language learning, and good schools with good reputations should and usually do make more money.

That said, anyone can open a school and anyone can recruit teachers. Research is essential to the ESL job pursuit. The job boards that post openings generally do not investigate the positions they are advertising. It's up to you! Don't take anything for granted and you won't get taken for a ride.
