Poland Primer

Poland is a TEFL tiger. It that regard it may well be this decade's Czech Republic, the new Central European "go-to" country for English teachers. English is in demand as Poland seeks to integrate into the European Union and to continue to grow its economy.

Don't expect a teaching job to fall into your lap just because you are a native-speaker. Poland is a teaching market with employment standards and strict immigration requirements. Make sure you research both to determine the best way to land a good teaching job. TESOL certificates are often required and almost always requested. Salaries range from 600 – 2000 Zlotys with supplemental private teaching opportunities (where available) creating the potential for additional income. The hiring season is year-round with spikes in January and September. Jobs are more readily available for teachers who pound-the-pavement and apply in person.
