Frequently Asked Questions

1) Where do I start?

Where do you want to go? Simply type your preferred destination into the search box. It's pretty much that simple, though search queries like 'Japan' or 'Seoul' will return lengthy results.

2) Can you give me some hints to help refine my searches?

Yes. For the basics, check out our 'Search Tips' page here. Once you've oriented yourself to the basics of TESall's search syntax, you can begin crafting searches which reflect your indvidual employment goals. For starters, you might want to consider who you want to teach (adults, children, businesspeople, etc.), what type of school you want to work for (chain, privately owned, etc.), and what type of English you want to teach (general, academic, specific purpose).

TESall.com can further refine results by searching for specific criteria. Search terms like 'paid airfare' and 'weekends off' can help to narrow your results. That said, users must remember that ad content varies greatly and terms are not standardized. Searching for 'paid airfare' may eliminate job postings offering to 'pay for airfare.'

3) I'm new to all this and don't understand many of the terms the schools/recruiters are using to describe the positions they are advertising.

Check out TESall's Newbie Orientation for a primer in ESL acronyms. Orienting yourself to the language of TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) is important to interpretting job postings and executing job searches.
